Excerpt from Memorial Addresses on the Life and Character of Leland Stanford (a Senator From California): Delivered in the Senate and House of Representatives, September 16, 1893, and February 12, 1894
Resolved by the Senate (the Hone of Representatives concurring), That there be printed of tho sulogies delivered in Congress upon the Hon. Leland stanford, late a Senator from the State of California, copies, of which copies shall be delivered to the Senators and Representatives of that State, and of the remaining number shall be for the use of the Sen ate and copies for the use of the House, and '0f the quota of the Seu ate the Public Printer shall set aside 50 capies, which he shall have bound in full morocco with gilt edges, the same to be delivered when completed to the widow of the deceased; and the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby directed to have engraved and printed at the earliest day practicable a portrait of the deceased to accompany said eulogies.
